High-Acuity, Low Occurrence (HALO)
On a quarterly basis all field providers complete a High-Acuity Low Occurrence (HALO) session reviewing critical, yet low frequency skills. ALS providers complete a four-hour session reviewing topics such as high-risk medication administration, advanced surgical airway procedures, and neonatal resuscitation. BLS providers have a two-hour session focused on BLS extended-scope skills and resuscitation.
Online Education
Employees have 24/7 access to online courses though Prodigy EMS. The platform hosts all classes required for recertification, as well as recorded monthly Morbidity & Mortality Case Reviews, Protocol Updates, and elective courses. For example, when a new medication is introduced through emergency protocol changes, all employees complete an online course, resulting in rapid compliance with high confidence and consistency.
Specialty Courses
Pro EMS employees are also supplied with courses on scene safety and situational awareness (SSAAFER), pediatric medication administration and resuscitation (Handtevy), Rescue Task Force & responding to Active Shooter, Hostile Events.
Pro EMS is an American Heart Association Authorized Training Center as well as an NAEMT Authorized Training Center. The full range of AHA and NAEMT classes, including ACLS, ACLS for the Experienced Provider, PALS, PHTLS, and TECC/TCCC, are conducted at CFM and available to all field providers.
