About Us

Overview

Pro EMS has served the City of Cambridge, Massachusetts since 1969, providing 911 emergency medical services in cooperation with the Cambridge Fire, Police, and Emergency Communications Departments.

Additionally, we provide emergency medical services to Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Primary emergency medical backup services are provided to the towns of Watertown and Belmont.

Pro EMS partners with Emerson Hospital to provide advanced life support services to the communities of Boxborough, Carlisle, Concord, Lincoln, Maynard, Stow, and Weston, collectively known as the Central Middlesex Emergency Response Association (CMERA), operating under the Emerson Paramedics brand.

We service the non-emergency medical transportation needs of our partners at the Cambridge Health Alliance, Mount Auburn and Emerson Hospitals, Harvard University Health Services and MIT Medical.

Pro EMS also works with several related entities. The Pro EMS Center for Medics, a CoAEMSP accredited paramedic and EMS training academy, is an AHA Authorized Training Center offering a myriad of in-person classes in Cambridge. Prodigy, our nationally recognized online learning management system is CAPCE accredited and was built in-house. And, Pro EMS Solutions, our EMS reimbursement, technology and administrative services division contracts with over 70 agencies throughout the Northeast and New England to provide professional services.

We have been recognized by numerous state and national organizations for our commitment to excellence. Pro EMS was the first ambulance service in Massachusetts to be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) and we are current members of the Academy of International Mobile Healthcare Integration (AIMHI), a national collective of high-performance EMS systems.
